Project Description
John Jemmott
I’m a Self Taught Artist and Industrial Engineer. The main theme of my work is the internal fight between working as an Engineer vs perusing the passion and freedom of being an Artist.
Additionally, I like to illustrate strong feelings such as sadness, frustration, anger, anxiety, paranoia, among others, to caught the viewer’s attention and sensitize them, regarding of how someone who suffers from mental illness may feel.
I don’t have a particular creative process, I just love to improvise and let me flow between all the events that are happening in the work, sometimes a mistake can turn into a priceless opportunity. But at the same time I have to take care about how far I can go… So, that continuous confrontation and internal dialogue is what excites me the most about creating art.
